[music][laughter] My name is Christian Houser, I am a double major in Foresty and Wildlife in the College of Agriculture. When I was younger I had family that would take me to Purdue football games and I just fell in love with the university and I asked them, I was like, well what can I major in in college I was still pretty young; and they said “Oh you can be an engineer”! I thought about what I wanted to do with my life and what type of career I would want and I decided that I would not want to be inside all day. I couldn’t be stuck in a cubicle. It’d just feel unnatural, so I wanted to have little bit more freedom. So, I looked at around at colleges in Indiana and seeing what universities had good Natural Resource programs and Purdues really stood out. As a double major in Forestry and Wildlife a lot of my classes have outdoor labs. For a lot of labs we are on properties in the West Lafayette or Lafayette area studying different habitats and species. And it’s just a joy to be outside; you get off campus for a bit, you are learning stuff that is vital for your career but your just also tromping around the woods- like, what’s not to like about that!? In my short two years here at Purdue some of my experiences have been unforgetable. The friends I’ve made, the interactions with professors, classes I’ve taken. These are things that are not only going to help me in my future career but are always going to stay with me and be some of my fondest memories in life.
