2019 Cotton Harvest

2019 Cotton Harvest

Mississippi’s cotton crop is shaping up
to be better than many expected at the beginning of the year. The biggest challenges that we faced this
year were the wet soil conditions that persisted from last fall into this spring, which delayed
our planting activities. However, we’re predicted to yield over 1,100
pounds of cotton, which would make the eighth year in a row of over 1,000 pounds state average
yields. And hopefully this weather holds out. We should be done harvesting by the first
of November.
